The Murdock Award for Business, named for Wichita Eagle founder Victor Murdock, is for an area business making a positive impact by pioneering efforts to address a major community challenge or by implementing ideas which enhance opportunities for employees and impact our community through creativity and innovation.
The award was presented by The Wichita Eagle. The 2017 recipient of the award for Business was Zinta Inspired Language. The company seeks to eliminate communication barriers through language training to students from Canada to Ecuador.
“We started the business from a friend who is a CCU nurse at Via Christi, who asked if I could teach Spanish to nurses,” said Vendla Smith, co-owner with her husband Kerry of Zinta Inspired Language. “We started with small seminars, then expanded to other businesses such as financial, automotive, dentistry and others. Then we got certified by the state and developed eight-week classes and it just grew from there. It is such an awesome honor to be selected as a Difference Maker in Wichita. That’s what we and our staff are trying to do – make a difference in Wichita.”
Zinta Inspired Language was further honored in a post by the Wichita Eagle. Read the post here.
